Install Links

Control Who Installs Your Build, and How

Every install page on AppShare is yours to configure: public or private, plain or branded, one release visible or the whole history. Nothing ships with a default you're stuck with.

WHAT YOU GET

What Every Install Page Includes

Password Protection

Keep a release open to anyone with the link, or lock it behind a password so only the people you've actually shared it with can install.

Public Downloads

Skip the password entirely for an open beta or a public demo, no login or credential needed on the visitor's end.

All Releases, One Page

Show older releases on the same install page, so a returning tester can install any version, not just the latest one.

FAQ

Questions About Install Links

What's the difference between a Unique URL and a Persistent URL?

A Unique URL is generated automatically for each release and can't be customized. A Persistent URL uses a custom slug and stays the same across future releases.

Can testers see older releases on the install page?

Yes, if you choose to show them. Older releases can be shown or hidden with one toggle.

How do I keep a build out of search results?

Turn on the "hide from search engines" toggle on the publish page, separate from password protection.

What shows up on the install page itself?

Your app name, logo, and theme, plus whichever releases you've chosen to show, each with its own install link and QR code.

Is there a size limit on the build itself?

Yes, uploads are capped at 2GB per build.

Can I password-protect just one release and leave others public?

Password protection is set at the release level, so yes, it can differ from one release to the next on the same app.

Can I remove AppShare branding entirely?

Yes. Combine a custom domain with the branding removal toggle, and the page reads as fully yours.

Do I need a custom domain to remove branding?

No, they're separate settings. You can remove branding without setting up a custom domain, or do both together.

Can I change the layout after the app is already live?

Yes, layout, logo, favicon, and theme are editable any time from the publish page settings.

Do custom tags affect the public install page?

No, tags are for your own filtering inside the dashboard, they aren't shown to testers on the public page.
